Foreign exchange is the exchange of one country's
currency for the currency of another country. With the development
of global markets, many companies and individuals find they are
frequently dealing with multiple currencies.
Currency exchange rates are set by the buyers and sellers of currency.
Unlike stocks, which are traded at a central location where buyers
and sellers meet, currency exchanges are usually negotiated between
banks, currency brokers and investors. The relative value of a
currency is determined by the successful meeting of a "bid"
and "ask" price for that specific currency.

- What
affects foreign currency exchange rates?
The foreign currency exchange rate between two currencies
specifies how much one currency is worth in terms of the
other. A market based exchange rate will change whenever
the values of either of the two component currencies change.
A currency will tend to become more valuable whenever
demand for it is greater than the available supply. It
will become less valuable whenever demand is less than
available supply.
The exchange rate is greatly influenced by interest rates
of respective countries. Inflation, balance of trade accounts
and political factors also impact foreign exchange rate.
It is important to look at the big picture when considering
a foreign currency exchange strategy for international
payments.
- Why
are Venstar Exchange rates different than the rates published
by other companies online?
The rates seen online are the Interbank trading rates
and are not for physical delivery. The trading market
prices are only for speculative trading, when not taking
physical delivery of an alternate currency. These online
rates are significantly lower than the exchange rates
charged by banks or other retail financial institutions.
Venstar Exchange performs only physical delivery of foreign
currency transactions and its wholesale exchange rates
are often 6-8% better than the bank and retail pricing.
