Are there any registration costs?
There is no obligation, no commitment, and no fees when registering with Venstar Exchange. As a further advantage, our registration process is simple and fast.
How do I get started?
Click here to go to our online Registration Forms. They will even work well on your mobile device. Submitting your registration and required copies of ID is simple and secure. As soon as your registration is approved (you will receive an email notification from Venstar Customer Service), you may book your transaction by contacting your designated Venstar Exchange Specialist by phone or email.
Why do I need to provide proof of ID and address?
To comply with US Patriot Act and Anti-Money laundering legal requirements, Venstar Exchange requires proof of ID and address verification from each of its clients. All banks, money service businesses and most other financial institutions in the United States are all under the same requirements to verify ID and address.
Is there any obligation to use Venstar Exchange after I register as a client?
There is no exclusive commitment to do an exchange when registering with Venstar Exchange or afterwards.
How long does it take to register?
It usually takes 2 to 3 hours from the moment we receive your Registration Forms to get your account established with Venstar Exchange.

About Foreign Currency Exchange

What Foreign Currencies does Venstar handle?
Venstar Exchange buys and sells all major currencies, We also handle many minor and exotic currencies. For availability of minor or exotic currencies, please contact a Venstar Exchange Specialist.
What affects foreign currency exchange rates?
The exchange rate between two currencies specifies how much one currency is worth in terms of the other. A market-based exchange rate will change whenever the values of either of the two component currencies change. A currency will tend to become more valuable whenever demand for it is greater than the available supply. It will become less valuable whenever demand is less than available supply.
The exchange rate is greatly influenced by interest rates of the respective countries. Inflation, balance of trade accounts, political factors and even news events can also impact exchange rate. It is important to look at the big picture when considering a foreign currency exchange strategy.
Why are your rates different than the rates I see published by other companies online?
The rates often seen online are the Interbank Trading Rates and are not for the regular business or consumer market. The Interbank Trading Market prices only apply to very high volume electronic trading for speculation purposes, usually between large banks and usually in blocks of $10 million. Many websites will post these misleading rates to their clients. Venstar Exchange is not involved with the speculative side of currency trading; we only deal with businesses and individuals who need to make a cross-currency payment. Venstar offers competitive rates based on the large volume our clients conduct in the “physical” (not speculative) exchange of currency.
What are interbank rates?
Interbank rates are the rates banks/brokers quote other banks/brokers for trades between banks (inter-bank) for transactions of $10,000,000 and above.
What is a Spot Contract?
A spot contract is a contract to buy or sell foreign currency at today's exchange rate, with settlement occurring typically within two business days. Spot contracts are typically used for foreign currency payments or for converting foreign currency receipts into U.S. Dollars.
What is a Forward Contract?
A forward transaction is a contract to buy or sell a currency at a fixed rate on a specified future date. Forwards contracts allow a client to lock in today's Forward Exchange Rates and eliminate the risk of future volatility. Venstar offers short and long-dated forwards in a variety of currencies. A 10% deposit is required for forward transactions (the deposit must be received within 2 business days after locking in the rate.) Forwards are calculated based on the amount of time going forward, i.e. 30 days, 6 months, 12 months and the interest rate differential between the two countries' currencies.
How are Forward rates calculated?
Forward rates are based on spot rates plus an adjustment for the length of time covered by the transaction. An adjustment is then made for any interest rate differential between the two currencies for that length of time. Venstar Exchange typically requires 10% deposit on forward transactions.
Spot or Forward?
Each client's individual situation dictates which type of transaction is best for their situation One of the benefits of being a Venstar Exchange client is that Venstar Account Specialists are available to advise on the best approach to minimize risk exposure and get the best rate.

About the Transaction Process

Are there any minimums or maximums?
Venstar Exchange has a 5,000 USD equivalent minimum for a one-time exchange. Existing clients and those with recurring payments may do exchanges less than 5,000 USD. There are no maximum amounts for either spot or forward transactions.
How long does it take to get my funds converted?
It typically takes 1 business day from the time your funds are received until your converted funds are in your beneficiary’s account. For further detail, the length of time it takes for funds to get to your beneficiary depends of few key factors.  
First is the timing of the receipt of your funds.
Second is the difference in time zones.  
Third is the operating banking hours of the banks involved in the transaction.
If funds are received early in the day, they will typically be converted and transferred the same day. If your funds are received late in the day, they will typically be converted and transferred the next morning (Monday - Friday, excluding Holidays).
Are there any fees?
There are no costs, commissions or fees of any kind to be paid to Venstar Exchange for transactions involving payment to a single beneficiary. Additional beneficiary payments from a single transaction are charged at 15 USD per payment. (Transactions below 500 USD equivalent done as a courtesy to our existing clients are charged a 15 USD wire fee per beneficiary paid to cover our costs).
Venstar Exchange does not control bank charges that a client's bank may charge them for initiating and/or receiving a wire transfer. Clients should inquire with their sending and receiving bank directly as to what their respective charges might be. Typically bank charges for sending a wire transfer range between $10 and $30. The receiving (Beneficiary) bank may also charge a fee for receiving a wire transfer. The cost of receiving a wire transfer is typically $5-10. These fees are often negotiable if you have a good relationship with your bank.
Do I have to have a bank account in the destination country?
The beneficiary account receiving the converted funds does not necessarily have to be a bank account in the client's name, but it must be an account denominated in the currency that our client has asked us to deliver. Commonly, the beneficiary account can be owned by a vendor being paid for goods or services, an escrow account of an accountant or attorney, or an account owned by a friend or family member.
How soon must I transfer funds after locking a rate?
On a  spot contract standard settlement is within 2 business days after confirming the transaction. On a forward contract, any deposits required are due within 2 days after confirming the transaction. The remaining balance is due on the date of settlement for the forward contract.
How do I pay for my transaction with Venstar
Clients make a request to their bank or brokerage firm to initiate a wire transfer to Venstar. We provide you with the detailed instructions required.
How do I know my funds are secure?
There are many safeguards and banking regulations in place to make sure that Client funds are secure at all times. With Venstar Exchange your funds are transferred and exchanged with only the largest financial institutions using the international SWIFT system which is highly regulated and the most secure system in the world.Founded in 2006 it has always been one of our primary values to make sure our clients funds are entirely secure and that our clients are completely satisfied with every single transaction. How do I know that my funds have been converted and sent?
You will receive a transaction receipt via email from Venstar Customer Service as soon your funds have been received, converted and transferred to your designated beneficiary.
